A Christmas Meditation

The lights of the stars

blanket the sky

the light of the sun

is shining up Jupiter

the outdoor lights

outer expressions 

of our inner light

we share the light in the night

lights on the tree

in rainbows and stars

Lo, the spectacle of spectrum

The candles in the room are well placed

they await

So

step outside

look to the eastern sky

for the brightest Jupiter

turn on the lights

inside and out

Light up the candles

with contemplative prayer

we all share the divine spark 

and all of us carry its sacred light

May it be

we have a peaceful Christmas

while we pray for a world in Peace
